How the League works
Every team and activity is measured against the average performance of its own school — never against another school. The Scholastic Grit Index (SGI) compares a team's average GPA with the school average, the Attendance Grit Index (AGI) does the same for attendance, and the National Grit Index (NGI) combines them, weighted 70% academic and 30% attendance.
An SGI of 107.5 means that team's average GPA ran 7.5% above its school's average. That makes recognition fair for every school, whatever its circumstances.
